Every Halloween since 1962 Main Street in Steamboat Springs has closed down and creepy goblins and fairy princesses take over. Fifth to 10th street close down from 4:30 to 7:30, and the Downtown Business Association's Halloween Stroll takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. Children trick-or-treat at local businesses. Adults are invited to dress up and walk through downtown; however, trick-or-treating is for children only. It’s a safe way for children to trick-or-treat, and adults get to socialize, while they pick sweet treats out of their children’s bag.
