Java & Jazz- an event you won't want to miss! On Sunday, September 7th, at the beautiful Lake Catamount Club House, Partners in Routt County (PRC) and will host the second annual Java and Jazz signature fundraiser to benefit Partners’ mentoring programs for local, at-risk youth.
This event takes place from 4-8 PM and promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience for all. Being held on a Sunday afternoon in the beautiful autumn scenery of Steamboat, it is a truly a unique fundraiser, combining a variety of java products and experiences with incredible jazz musicians and a live auction.
Java & Jazz will feature several coffee and tea stations, including hot coffee and teas and specialty drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and chais. Attendees will be given the opportunity to chat with our experienced baristas to learn more about one of our most cherished beverages. Wine will be available at the bar and wait staff will proudly serve a selection of gourmet hors d’oeuvres and delectable deserts.
Entertainment includes a live performance by Denver’s one and only Jon Ridnell Quartet and a live auction, with local celebrity Hall-of-Fame auctioneer Cookie Lockhart. Count on a great variety of practical and extravagant auction items from a stay at a lake house on lake Champlain in Vermont, custom made furniture, season ski pass, and much, much more.
We invite you to join us on September 7th not only for your own enjoyment, but also to be part of something important. PRC is the only youth mentoring organization in Routt County. Of the youth we serve, 60% are experiencing low income, 24% parental incarceration, 43% parental alcohol/drug abuse, 60% single-parent families, 50% abuse/neglect. Thanks to our committed and compassionate mentors, our programs are proven to increase self-esteem, school/adult bonding, and future orientation and decrease alcohol/drug use, delinquency, and interpersonal violence. Currently we are supporting 40 One-to-One partnerships, 20 waiting youth and 240 middle school students through School-Based Mentoring.
