In the event of an emergency a citizen may call 911 to reach help for fire, accident, avalanche, robbery or any emergency. The Routt County Dispatch Center will determine the Emergency Service required and immediately dispatch the appropriate responder.
Tips for Making 911 calls
- Stay Calm
- Dial 911 immediately from a safe location.
- Give exact location and type of emergency.
- DON'T HANG UP until the call-taker says to do so.
- Teach children how to use 911 properly.
- Don't call 911 for weather emergencies; tune in to local TV and radio stations for information.
