Yampa Valley Medical Center Auxiliary

Mission

The mission of the Auxiliary is to render service and raise funds for the Steamboat Springs Health Care Association, it's subsidiary organizations, including Yampa Valley Medical Center, GrandKids child care Center, and the Doak Walker Care Center, it's patients, residents, and the community it serves, and to assist YVMC in promoting health and wellness in the community in accordance with the mission and objectives established by the SSHCA Board of Trustees.

Blood Drives
Assist our chairman, by working at or organizing one of five yearly drives.

Day Surgery Support
Our newest program-help to comfort the loved ones of those having surgery. Be a resource for their questions about hospital services. Lend a hand to the busy Day surgery Department.

Fashion Show
Auxilians don spectacular outfits from local stores and entertain their friends. It may not be Paris but his luncheon is a time for the gals to let loose and have some fun. Help with planning, selling tickets, or strutting your stuff.

Health Fair
This springtime event brings together the community for low cost health screening. Many volunteers are needed to plan and staff the event, as well as supply baked goods for participants.

Art Project
Help to promote and sell our art project.

Help at Hand
This is a job for a nurturer. Help at Hand volunteers assist emergency room staff with injured skiers during the winter season only. Volunteers, under the direction of the staff, do everything from handholding to warming cold patients with heated blankets. The pace is fast and the rewards enormous.

Kiddie Kuddlers
Who doesn’t love to snuggle, especially with a baby? We give a little extra attention to the infants a GrandKids Child Care Center.

Rubber Ducky Race
This race puts the FUN in fundraiser. The biggest money-maker of the year needs volunteers in several capacities; organization, prize collecting, duck counting, and race-day volunteering. This is a wild group of people to work with.
