Mission Statement:
"The yampavalley.info Community Information Center is dedicated to gathering and displaying valley-wide information, created for and by citizens, to promote the spirit, culture and heritage of our communities."
Specific Objectives of yampavalley.info
- Promote the spirit and sense of Routt County throughout
- Gather, organize and present, in a useful and easy to understand manner, community information ranging from the weather and ski conditions; historic data; city and county regulations; lifelong learning opportunities; employment opportunities; district school and university information; calendar of events; arts and recreations; health services; the lore of our county and its environment.
- Help community-based organizations develop online information in the public interest.
- Offer free web space and volunteer technical assistance in developing web sites or information pages to non-profit organizations in Routt County. Assist in the use of information technology including telecommunication tools, the Internet, and the electronic information systems.
- Work with school systems to develop curriculum and useful projects around local content.
- To provide public access to the Internet and information through public access sites (for example Centennial Hall, Library, Chamber, Town Halls, etc.) to ensure that all members of the community have the ability to obtain and share information;
- To create a system that will facilitate, promote, coordinate and assist in an ongoing dialogue among citizens regarding topics of interest in a range of categories.
- To apply for and receive contributions, grants and donations of all types from individuals, organizations, profit and nonprofit, public and private corporations, government agencies, and others to support the purposes set forth in these objectives.
